Areas of concern when purchasing:
Has the under floor area been converted to a living area
with walls against the ground - is there waterproofing
on the outer face of the external wall to prevent dampness.
Is thermal insulation present or adequate in the ceilings and under
floor areas or is there a need to prevent rising dampness?
Are there high moisture readings in the walls
that back onto shower areas, is the flooring
under showers/laundry water damaged?
Do the textured ceilings have an Asbestos content?
Has the steel fireplace been installed with a Council Permit for
insurance purposes?
Is the treatment of the timber used for the external walls at a
satisfactory level to prevent rotting from moisture entry through exterior
wall cladding, window/door openings, roofing or defect flashing areas?
